Oorelope LG Lawmakers Suspend Councilor, Supervisory Councilor Over Anti-Govt. Activities, Negligence of Official Duties

Lawmakers in Oorelope local government area have suspended the Councilor representing Ward 8, Mr Muyibi Arimiyau and the Supervisory Councilor for Transport, Mr Rasheed Jelili over alleged anti party activities.

This was part of the resolutions of the house signed by the Leader, Lateef Adekiitan and Clerk, Mr W. J. Idowu (JP) on Thursday, in Igboho, Oorelope local government area.

According to the resolution, the house received a petition from members of the party’s executive at Ward 8. The petition which was signed by the party executive accused the councilor and Supervisory Councilor of neglecting official duties and anti-government activities.

The house resolved that the salaries and other allowances of the Councilor and Supervisory Councilor be suspended till further notice.

Also, the duo were instructed to stay away from the Secretariat Complex of the Local Government pending the final determination of their cases.

The resolution reads: “Following the petition received/submitted to the Leader of the House by the Ward 08 Executive members of the Peoples Democratic Party alleging the Councillor representing their Ward (Ward 08) of anti-gov activities/absenting himself from duty without permission among others, the House.

“RESOLVED and APPROVED as follows: 

A. i. that Hon. Muyibi Arimiyau be suspended with immediate effect.

“ii. that his Salary and other allowances be suspended till further notice

“iii. that Hon. Muyibi Arimiyau should stay away from the Secretariat Complex of the Local Government pending the final determination of his case.

“B. i. Due to anti-gov activities, and other allegations leveled against the Supervisor for Transport.

“It was also resolved that: (1) The Supervisor for Transport Hon. Rasheed Jelili be suspended till further notice

“(ii) That his Salary and other allowances be suspended as well

“(iii) that Hon. Hon. Rasheed Jelili should stay away from the Secretariat Complex of the Local Government pending the final determination of his case. Adipating 23/03/2023.”
