Massive turn out in Kishi as Makinde’s deputy, wife confident of victory 

The deputy governor of Oyo state, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, on Saturday exercised his voting rights alongside his wife, Chief (Mrs) Ajibola Lawal at Unit 4, Ward 6, Alafiatayo, Kishi, Irepo LG.

Lawal, who arrived at his voting unit at precisely 9:36 am, commended the process of the election, stating that everyone appeared to be in good spirits and that voters were turning out in large numbers to cast their votes. 

He encouraged the voters to stay behind and monitor their votes to ensure that their votes counts stressing that when the collation is done, transmission automatically produce result. 

According to Lawal, the residents of the Irepo local government are very calm because there is no brigandage or violence, and I anticipate that we will respect the election results no matter what the outcome may be. 

He continued by saying that His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, supported a peaceful election and urged other voters to do the same in order to give the election credibility. 

According to him, Oyo state’s ongoing election process is demonstrating to the rest of the world that Nigeria is unquestionably prepared for democracy. He urged all of the state’s zones to uphold peace and permit transparency to permeate the election process.

Lawal asserted that he believes there will be a greater turnout for the governorship race than there was for the previous one, underlining that there are already more people on queue because they are prepared to vote for him. 

He made it clear that anything the agent can do, he can also do it himself, contrary to the false impression that is currently being spread, and that he would stick around to watch his votes as well because he is required by electoral law to do so.

“Now, we had done the campaign for almost three months and today is the climax of the activities of political parties and their candidates.

“Today will tell us whether we have done well as a government or not but I can assure you that from snippet and information across the state I have been gathering since 6am, I think that we are coasting home successfully.”
