March 11 election: Ladoja, Makinde in talk, Says Commissioner For Education

The Oyo State Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Barrister Abdulraheem Abiodun Abdurahaman on Wednesday formally reacted to the purported rift being peddled by opposition parties in the state between our dear elder statesman, former governor Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja and Governor Seyi Makinde, saying categorically that there is no rift whatsoever between the Otun Olubadan and his political son.

A statement issued by the Hon Commissioner quoted him as describing the recent reports of a rift between the Otun Olubadan, Senator Ladoja and Governor Seyi Makinde as not only false but the handiwork of some media mischief makers and political jobbers.

Abdu-Raheem noted that  opposition  members are notoriously known for birthing controversies, providing a nexus for naysayers who work behind the scenes planting such stories which are absolutely false.

According to him, the opposition had claimed our highly revered father has endorsed a particular candidate on the ground of religion.

“This morning, I was with His Excellency, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja. We spoke at length. He never endorsed any candidate other than his political son, Governor Seyi Makinde.

“I can tell members of the public authoritatively that Baba mi, Senator Ladoja and Governor Makinde spoke on the phone this morning. The grey areas between the two leaders have been resolved amicably.

“There is no doubt that the Baba and Governor Seyi Makinde are focused on the development of Ibadanland and Oyo State in general.

“I enjoin members of the public to disregard the purported endorsement of any opposition candidate. Baba is in support of the re-election bid of his political son, Governor Seyi Makinde.

“Therefore, I urge the law abiding residents of Oyo State to go out on Saturday and cast their votes for Governor Seyi Makinde and other PDP candidates.” Abdu-Raheem concluded.
