Electoral Victory: Ido LG Chairman, Adeojo, Congratulates Makinde, Says Omituntun 2.0 Has Come To Stay

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, has congratulated Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, over his re-election as Governor of the state, saying that Omituntun 2.0 has come to stay.

Makinde, who contested under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, emerged winner, having polled 563,756 votes cast beating his closest opponent, Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 256,685.

Adeojo, in his congratulatory message, commended the efforts of the security agencies, the electoral umpire for a peaceful election as well as the people who trooped out en masse to activate Omituntun 2.0 in Oyo State by voting massively for the governor.

He, however, urged that modalities be put in place to dissuade selfish individuals from seeking political offices.

His statement reads thus:

“I congratulate Governor Seyi Makinde, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and all the House of Assembly candidates on their success at the gubernatorial election in Oyo State as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commmission (INEC) today.

“I wish to specially commend Governor Makinde for his bravery in rejecting God-fatherism and seeking an alternative platform to actualise his vision for the good people of the state.

“Equally, I applaud the good people of Oyo State for turning out en mass to exercise their franchise and waiting vigilantly thereafter to protect their votes. Indeed, the people of the state spoke in one voice. They have spoken in such a way and manner that they want Omituntun 2.0 be activated and it has come to stay.

“I applaud the security agencies for being more professional and showing less partisanship in this election as against what we’ve witnessed in past elections.”
