2023: Afonja seeks votes for Makinde re-election bid, distributes bags of rice, indomie, others

Former Commissioner for Works and Transport in Oyo State, Prof. Raphael Afonja AbdulRahman has solicited massive support for the reelection of Engr. Seyi Makinde in the forthcoming gubernatorial election slated for 18th of March, 2023. 

Afonja, who made the call on Monday during visitation to his ward meeting at Isale Afon, added that Makinde is the most fit for the job to bring about sustainable developments to Oyo State.

According to him, “I am soliciting your supports to work conscientiously for the re-election of Governor Makinde who, in all fairness and in the estimation of the overwhelming majority of our people, has done his best within the circumstances of our state to rebuild Oyo State to an enviable height.

“He is therefore the best man on the ballot for the office of Governor, and I am directing my supporters in Ogbomoso zone and the people of our state to support him.

Afonja, in his quest to cushion the effects of dearth of cash and hardship occasioned by APC-led Federal government, distributed bags of rice, 40 boxes of indomie, mill, milo and salt and also supported his ward meeting with three bags of rice among others. 

“It’s saddened to note that the unfortunate ill-timed policy of the federal government which resulted in the unfortunate dearth of cash and crippled of businesses, however, I’m supporting this meeting with three bags of rice just like have also distributed indomie, mill, milo and salt to residents of Ogbomoso North local government. 

“As the Saturday elections approach, our pertinent goal should be how we’ll mobilize massive support for the success of Engr. Seyi Makinde and all PDP candidates at the polls”- He said.
