I’d curb motor pack touts if elected as Lagos governor, says Jandor

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, Olajide Adediran he reiterated his commitment to curb the excesses of transport unions and motor park touts if elected governor in 2023.

Jandor said he would ensure that revenue collected in Lagos would be used for the development of the state.

He spoke at presentation of Umo Eno, the PDP governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom.

The event was held at the Airforce Officers Mess, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

“We will provide a new leadership in Lagos state. We will check the excesses of motor touts as well as Iyaloja and Babaloja in the state,” he said.

“Anyone that closes any market in the state would be sent to prison. I am not going to have any godfather.

“We will ensure that any money collected as revenue in Lagos State is spent for the people of the state as against what is currently obtainable in the state.”

Jandor noted that his administration would provide an opportunity for peaceful co-existence between indigenes and non-indigenes in the state.

Jandor said his administration would appreciate the contributions of non-indigenes to the economy of the state.

His remark comes amid the ongoing strike by the Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria (JDWAN).

The union, on Sunday, announced that its members will commence a seven-day strike from Monday over alleged extortion and harassment from the motor park management and thugs in Lagos.
