OYSROMA ready to kickstart full operation— Oyo Deputy Governor 

The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Adebayo Abdul-raheem Lawal has disclosed the readiness of Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) to commence full operation across the 33 local government in the state, MOUTHPIECE NGR reports.

Lawal, who conducted a second inspection of the agency’s facilities, said he is pleased to see that the Agency is fully ready and fit to carry out the Operation Zero Pothole task at hand. 

Addressing journalists on Wednesday shortly after the inspection, the deputy governor gave a hint that 5 roads from each local government in the state will be fixed as quickly as possible to help fulfill the governor Seyi Makinde administration’s vow to improve the road network.

 He stated that OYSROMA will henceforth begin inspection of roads and make sure all the promises concerning roads from Governor Makinde is met within the shortest period of time. 

Lawal, who also inspected a workshop yard long built since independence, instructed workers at the agency to get rid of trashes and equally compiled a list of the equipment that would be a burden. 

He stressed that the building is supposed to be a work yard by concept with the facilities enclosed in it such as carpentry workshop, mechanic workshop, suggesting that a private sector can be partnered to make use of it in order to be making money and improve the environment. 

“So, the environment must be steady, workforce must be steady, and the workers must have the right attitudinal approach to the job that we want to settle them with”.

“His Excellency has directed that the road network across the state must be handled by OYSROMA, and if an agency of this network would handle road network in 33 local government, then it behoves on me as the overseer to rarely know that they are in good state”

The deputy governor, who said he had examined and know that OYSROMA would be capable of handling the project, added that government is not willing to do the project on contract bases as the state has Civil Engineer, architect, electrical and all sort in road construction. 

He submitted that the project is coming on direct labor bases except supply of gravel, bitumen which may come on contract bases.
