JUST IN: Saki West Elders & Stakeholders hail Bayo Lawal, unite for Makinde’s re-election 

Notable Elders and Stakeholders of Peoples Democratic Party in Saki West Local Government have congratulated Barrister Adebayo Abdul-raheem Lawal on his appointment as the Deputy Governor of Oyo State.

Led by Engr. Hamid Gbadamosi, the forum described the Ex-Attorney General of Oyo State, as an astute leader and a man of impeccable character whose antecedents remain impeccable, and above all, a born diplomat and great team player whom everyone is convinced that will add value t the Seyi Makinde’s administration. 

 The groups in a letter to the Deputy Governor at his Bashorun, Ibadan home, on Thursday, noted that Lawal’s appointment was based on his track record, loyalty and hardworking. 

They commended Governor Seyi Makinde for displaying yet another spirit of discernment for selecting the best man for the job and retaining the deputy governor from the zone. 

The letter read: “Your Excellency, the purpose of the visit to you today is to assure you of the support of Saki West people in your new task and to demonstrate that you are one of us and we solidarise with you and we will be happy to co-operate with you to make sure that Seyi Makinde’s administration continues to succeed.”

“To reiterate our readiness and our 100% support for the Seyi Bayo project in the 2023 general election.”

“And to identify with Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision and grand development strides in Oyo state in general and in Oke Ogun in particular”. 

The group further urged the acting governor to work harmoniously with all the leaders and stakeholders in Oke-Ogun for peace to reign always, advising him to beware of sycophants because in many cases, they cause more harm than good”, 

While expressing his appreciation, Bayo Lawal disclosed that he’s someone related to Shaki because his first time experience as worker was in shaki when he was appointed as an English teacher in one of the public schools where he spent about 3 years. 

“To let you know that I uphold Saki in a high esteem, Chief Micheal Koleoso is my father, and there is no time that I don’t visit or speak with him likewise many other people seated here today.”

Lawal stated that the position of deputy governor is for everyone in Oke-Ogun, asking them to request for whatever they think belong to them. 

He insisted that it is crucial for the residents of Oke-Ogun zone to come together to ensure that the Seyi Makinde/Bayo Lawal ticket is a success in 2023, noting that the current administration in the state has launched numerous wonderful development projects in Oke Ogun.

Those present include Alhaji Ayodemi Muslim; Alhaji Adesina Moshood; Alhaji Salau Addlabu; Mr Oluwakemi Waheed; Alhaji Olubori Taofik Lanre; Barr. Jimoh Olaide Abdul salam; Alhaji Ismail Ajewumi; Alhaji Fatai Olumola; Mr Jacob Arowomole; Alhaji Nasiru Salami and Alhaji Ajani Shittu Kekere Basiru.
