Be wary of sneaky characters from Osun— Makinde’s ally, Dare Adeleke tells Atiku

PDP Chieftain, Dare Adeleke has blasted Dr Akindele Adekunle, Caretaker Chairman of PDP, Osun State and some Publicity Secretaries of the party in the South West who issued a statement stating that the South West PDP were not in support of the call for the resignation of party Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

Adeleke dubbed the Osun Caretaker Chairman, a man who doesn’t appreciate collective decisions, which he himself was part of.

In a statement issued in Ibadan, Oyo State, Adeleke said what Adekunle and his principal have displayed, is a reckless disregard for the interest of the south.

Adeleke also faulted Akindele for implying that Seyi Makinde was against PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s ambition: “These people were in Oyo State when Gov. Makinde held a grand reception for our presidential flagbearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Makinde himself, welcomed Atiku and donated a huge amount to his campaign, does this seem like the gesture of someone who is not in support? The fact is that Makinde made it clear by action and words that he supports Atiku’s candidacy but unlike the slippery characters from Osun, Makinde also renewed his call for the removal of Ayu for the purposes of fairness and equity.” Adeleke stressed.

The Oyo Pacesetters Transport Company boss, cautioned Atiku to be very wary of these fair weather friends who he said “betrayed” him in 2019 elections by “donating hugely to the Buhari campaign: “They are nothing but temporary opportunists who want to reap where they did not sow and I advise Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to be very careful and watchful of those sneaky characters from Osun”.

Continuing, Adeleke said the call for Ayu’s removal is a clarion call from the whole of the south: “If the north can support their own interest as a collective bloc so can we in the South.

Responding to the group of publicity Secretaries which said it represented the party in Lagos, Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti and Osun States and sent out a press statement claiming that it affirmed it’s faithfulness to the PDP constitution which stipulates the procedure for leadership election and removal,  Adeleke dismissed them as charlatans and fake people and an association of PROs. He wondered how a collection of publicity Secretaries can claim to be representing the whole of the South West PDP: “These are a rogue collection of PROs, an association of hungry scavengers whose sole aim is to inflate their own bellies with filthy grubs from Ayu’s table, not minding if they betray the whole of the South West”.

“These nitwits will definitely be sanctioned. The position of the South West as maintained by our leader, Gov. Seyi Makinde remains that Ayu must go and the whole of the zone is standing by that.

“There is clearly an anomaly, a grave injustice to the South, our constitution, the PDP constitution is clear on rotation of power. Section 7(3)(c) clearifies this fact.

“We will not be bamboozled into accepting this unhealthy situation and we will not stop calling for Ayu’s resignation until it is done.

“But for the Lone Ranger, Akeem Olatunji, the rest of this rag tag association of hungry vultures, will receive the full wrath of the party South West PDP members.

They have toyed with the tail of a tiger and I hope they are ready for the outcome”, the statement read.
