We cannot afford ransom payment for our abducted relatives – Family of LAUTECH student lament

The families of two people who were kidnapped last week Friday are still in search of money to pay as ransom.

A source very close to the families of the duo made this revelation during a conversation with newsmen on Tuesday.

It was gathered that the two of Olugbenga Owolabi, a hotelier and one of his staff, Rachael Opadele were kidnapped on Friday, 29th July.

Opadele, finalist of Fine and Applied Arts at LAUTECH, reportedly started to work in the hotel shortly after the protracted strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) that has lingered for five months.

The two were kidnapped in the hotel in the Abaa area of Ogbomoso.

MOUTHPIECE NGR observes on Tuesday that the two victims are still in captivity.

A source close to the families has told newsmen that the families are still in search of money to pay as ransom.

The source while reacting to the question of whether the duo have been set free or not, said “No.

“Ransom yet to be paid and security agents are helpless.

“The kidnapped victims are; Olugbenga Owolabi and Rachael Opadele.

“I am not aware of any change from what happened so far yesterday. Family looking for ransom money”.
