Owo church massacre: Gov Akeredolu confirms arrest of attackers, killers

Governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu has confirmed the arrest of five of the attackers and killers of religious worshippers at St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.

The governor confirmed this development in Akure, the capital of Ondo state on Tuesday.

The governor said, “I can confirm what the CDS has said. They were arrested last week and the photographs of the suspects were forwarded to me.

“About five of them have been arrested while they are on the trail of others.”

MOUTHPIECE NGR had earlier reported that on June 5, terrorists launched an attack on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owaluwa Street, Owo, during church service.

MOUTHPIECE NGR had also reported that the Chief of Defence Staff, Lucky Irabor, on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of those behind the Owo attack.

The Chief of Defence Staff made this revelation during a meeting with editors and media executives in Abuja, the country capital.

Irabor revealed that the suspects would be paraded after an investigation has been conducted on the matter.
