Troops save another Chibok girl in Borno

Troops of 21 Army Armoured Brigade Bama, Borno State, have rescued Ruth Bitrus, another Chibok school girl.

The girl had absconded from Boko Haram den along with her child.

MOUTHPIECE NGR recalls that the young girl alongside her colleagues, was eight years ago, abducted from their school in Chibok town, Borno, on April 14, 2014.

MOUTHPIECE NGR had also observed that the troops, two weeks ago, secured the release of two Chibok girls, Mary Dauda and Hauwa Joseph.

Mary Dauda and Hauwa Joseph had escaped from the captivity of the terrorists in Gazuwa camp, located about 9 kilometres to Bama Local Government Area of Borno.

Ruth, while narrating her experience, said that she lost her husband to a bomb that detonated on him while he was trying to set the bomb against the troops of Operation Hadin Kai.

She added that other girls were still in captivity of Sambisa.

“It took me three days to escape from the insurgents’ enclaves. I took some food with me for my child. Some of the Boko Haram insurgents saw me while I was coming out, but I ran to the bush to avoid being arrested,” she said.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, while reacting to the issue, revealed that the freedom of Chibok school girls lately was as a result of the aggressive sustained war waged by the troops of Operation Hadin Kai.

The aggressive war waged against the terrorists have resulted in hunger and displacement of the terrorists.

He revealed that over 100 Chibok school girls were still no where to be found eight years after the initial kidnap.
