Islamic Calendar: Nigerian gov declares Monday work-free day

Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has announced Monday, 1st August 2022, a work-free day to mark the commencement of 1445 Islamic (Hijrah) New Year.

The Governor has made this revelation via a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba made available to newsmen in Kano.

The Governor has felicitated with all Muslims ummah for the commencement of the new Islamic calendar.

He, has informed Muslims to use the opportunity of the break to pray for Allah’s forgiveness and His intervention to save the country from the lingering insecurity.

Governor Ganduje also gave an assurance of the readiness of his administration, to continue to improve the lives of its citizens.
