We must all partake in elections – CAN tells Christians to get voters’ cards

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Niger State Chapter, has challenged Christians to go and get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Catholic Bishop of Kontagora and the state CAN Chairman, Most Rev. Bulus Yohanna made this awareness on Monday, in Minna, the state capital, while expressing his message for the Democracy Day.

The Bishop explained that Christians need to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), get their PVCs and come out to vote on election day, for them to decide who would represent them in governance.

He said this would give them the opportunity to choose good leaders of their choice.

“My beloved brethren in Christ Jesus, this is a clarion call on all of us, the 2023 general elections is around the corner and we are the determinants of who governs us after the elections.

“Remember that the final lap towards carrying out your civic duty as an electorate in the country begins with getting your PVC to enable you to vote on election day.

“As Christians, we must all participate actively in politics, either as members of political parties or as electorate.

“I want to urge eligible Christians to get their PVCs to participate in the 2023 general elections.

“Nigerians and indeed Christians must not sit on the fence, we must all participate actively in the nation’s electoral process, ” he said.
