Unknown gunmen attack Celestial church, kidnap two in Ogun

Some unknown gunmen have reportedly launched an attack on the Celestial Church of Christ, Oshofa Parish at Wasimi, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State on Tuesday.

The gunmen reportedly abducted Oluwaseun Ajose, the Assistant Shepherd of the parish and Dagunro Ayobami, a Sunday school teacher.

It was gathered that the two victims were taken away by the gunmen around 12 am on Tuesday.

Oluwatomisin Ehuwaojomo, the Shepherd of the church, while confirming the incident to newsmen, said he was called by the abductors and was told to pay a ransom of N50 million to secure the release of the two church workers.

The Shepherd, said the incident was unexpected and requested that the police and other security agencies come to their aid.

He said he was not around church when the incident occurred.

He said he was resting in his room at the time.

“When my Assistant Shepherd called me almost two hours after they left, the kidnappers refused to speak with me twice. But on his third attempt, they spoke with me and demanded N50 million ransom.

“I told them that, I am a servant of God, nobody pays me a salary. I have spoken with the Ogun State Commissioner of Police. The command is on the matter.”

The spokesperson of the police in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, when contacted said he has not got details about the incident.
