Osun announces Friday, June 24 holiday for PVC collection

MOUTHPIECE NGR reports that Osun state government has announced Friday, June 24, a work free day for civil servants to go and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs.

This is coming three weeks to the gubernatorial election in the state.

The state government has via a statement revealed that the development was to ensure all public and civil servants get their voters cards ahead of the July 16 governorship poll.

This was made public via a signed statement by Prince Wole Oyebamiji, the Secretary to the State Government.

The statement partly reads: “The Government of Osun State acknowledges the importance of workers in the democratic process, and is aware that the only way workers can give life to their aspiration for a worker-friendly government is through their votes.

“The government does not want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to exercise their constitutional right, especially as it affects their overall wellbeing and the security of their future, ” the statement read.
