Osinbajo leaves Nigeria for Abidjan after defeat at APC presidential convention

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo will leave Abuja today, Monday, for Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

The VP will be joining other African leaders and beyond for the Africa CEO Forum annual summit.

The forum in collaboration with an arm of the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation, will be taking place from the 13th–14th of June, 2022.

The Vice President will be meeting with the likes of Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo, and other business actors and political leaders to discuss the subject matter “Economic Sovereignty: From Ambition to Action”.

The media aide of the VP, Laolu Akande, has via a statement revealed that Osinbajo will also be holding bi-lateral meetings with various business and political stakeholders.

With the VP on the journey is Ambassador Adeyemi Dipeolu, the Special Adviser to the President on Economic Matters.

The number two citizen of the country is expected back later on Monday.

This would be the first moment the VP will be traveling outside the country since after his defeat in the presidential convention of the ruling, All Progressives Congress, APC, last Wednesday.
