Nine Ibadan traditional chiefs ripe for promotion

Oba Lekan Balogun, the Olubadan of Ibadan land, has said that no lesser than nine traditional chiefs are ripe for promotion.

The monarch made this revelation in a statement by Chief Akeem Rufai, his Personal Assistant.

The traditional ruler via the statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, revealed that one of the traditional chiefs who are ripe for promotion is the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Senator Teslim Folarin.

He said Folarin would be promoted from his position to Asaaju Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Others who are ripe for promotion, as postulated in the statement, are Senior Chief Kola Babalola (SAN), to be promoted to Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, Senior Chief Rasheed Olalekan Alabi moving to Maye Olubadan of Ibadanland, Senior Chief Lateef Oyeola Oyelade graduating to Ekefa Olubadan of Ibadanland and Senior Chief Yekeen Ayoade Adeojo to be lifted to Agbaakin Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Others are Senior Chief Ismaila Akinade Fijabi, to be lifted to Aare Alaasa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Saka Fola Lapade to be promoted to Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Muibi Ademola Adewuyi who will move to Ayingun Olubadan of Ibadanland and Chief Raufu Yesufu Delesolu to become Aare Ago Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The traditional ruler said that the traditional chiefs would be promoted at Alli-Iwo Palace to their new positions on Friday.

The statement disclosed that the traditional monarch would be in supervision of the promotion of the chiefs.

MOUTHPIECE NGR recalls that the incumbent Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Lekan Balogun, who’s from Alli-Iwo compound, was enthroned in March this year.
