Nigerian governor approves N2.9bn benefits for retirees’

The Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has approved N2.9 billion as benefits for 1,172 retirees.

Safiyanu Garba Bena, the acting Head of Service, while addressing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on, Wednesday, posited that the funds were for local government, local education authority and state retirees for the year 2021. 

The Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), in Kebbi State, Umar Halidu-Alhassan, has appealed to the state government to approve the outstanding leave grants of civil workers.

He appreciated the state government for living up to its responsibility and for paying the benefits of retirees.
