Gunmen storm Abuja estate, kidnap residents

Some suspected gunmen early hours of Monday launched an attack on Gwarinpa Estate in the Federal Capital Territory.

It was gathered that the suspected bandits operated on the estate, for close to three hours, between 1am and 4am, kidnapping an unidentified number of residents.

Mohammed, a resident said the bandits entered the Genuine Estate after Efab Queens on 6th Avenue, Gwarinpa.

He said that the hoodlums, who were in large number, were armed with sophisticated weapons such as bows, arrows, and machetes.

The spokesperson for the police in the state, Josephine Adeh, revealed that the case was not a kidnapping case but a robbery case.

Adeh, who’s a Deputy Superintendent of Police, has said that men of the police force had occupied the affected area, to ensure normalcy is restored.
