Christians are safe, Tinubu’s wife is a pastor – Orji Kalu on Muslim-Muslim ticket

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senate Chief Whip, has lent his opinion to the ongoing controversy on the Muslim/Muslim ticket and Christian/Christian ticket.

There have been speculations that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would subscribe to one single faith ticket, ever since the former Governor of Lagos State, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has become the party’s flagbearer.

While many persons and organizations have spoken against and rejected the idea, some others have urged Nigerians to focus more on competence, not religious background of the candidates.

While speaking to newsmen at the National Assembly on Wednesday, Kalu told the Christians not to feel discriminated since the wife of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of the ruling party, is a Christian and a pastor.

“Let me tell you, in my house, my wife is the head of the house in reality. Even you men that are here, now that your wives aren’t here, they are the head. Like if I wear this clothe, my wife will tell me ‘My dear, this clothe is not good remove it’. Your wife will tell you you are supposed to eat Akara and Akamu, whether you argue with her, you must take that Akamu and your wife want you to pay children school fees, whether you argue or not, you must pay.

“The Christians should relax because Tinubu’s wife is a pastor and ones she’s a pastor we are protected because she’s not a house wife. She has political knowledge,” he said.

Mrs Tinubu who’s a senator in the present Assembly was made an Assistant Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 2018.
