Scholarship: Nextgen sponsors 20 pupils, distributes writing materials, preaches Unity

Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” ― W.B. Yeats

The fast rising and highly value-adding non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization, Next Generation Kidz Foundation had sponsored twenty (20) more students in her “education for all campaign” by extending her kind gesture and charitable act to the Baptist LGEA Primary School, Ilorin. The foundation supported the indigent students with writing packs such as; neatly packaged note books, customised pencils, pens amongst others.

Education is one of the most powerful things in life. It allows us to find the meaning behind everything and helps improve lives in a massive way.

Enlightening the students at the event center in the school premises, the Country Director of the foundation, Mr Idowu Micheal Tobi, informed the beneficiaries, management and staff of the school about the objective of the organization and established that, “education gives us an understanding of the world around us and offers us an opportunity to use that knowledge wisely. Irrespective of race, creed, and gender, education makes it possible for people to stand out as equal with all the other persons from different walks of life — the sole purpose of founding the organization”.

In the event that saw some of the parents and guardians of the beneficiaries, the Head of Publicity and Communication Strategy, Mr Basheer Luqman Olarewaju – Unique urged the beneficiaries to improve more in their academics performance as the foundation aimed at supporting the vulnerable students and they should not see themselves better than those not chosen. “Overall, we believe that education is the platform that makes it possible to defeat all barriers. In that respect, here are some learning tools to help you appreciate the power of learning and gaining knowledge”, he added.

Earlier, the NGO Project Manager, Comrade Olosasa Saheed enjoined the students to uphold integrity, unity, love and truth as watchwords and at all time, they should embrace peace, be religious tolerant and ensure being ambassadors of humanity. He emphasized on quality education: “It helps people become better citizens, get a better-paid job, shows the difference between good and bad. Education shows us the importance of hard work and, at the same time, helps us grow and develop. Thus, we are able to shape a better society to live in by knowing and respecting rights, laws, and regulations”.

The Headmistress, Mrs Ande Bola noted that, education is more than just learning how to read and write. Education helps us grow personally, professionally, and socially. She appreciated the foundation and pastors Wicks and their entire congregation.

While thanking the NGO, the parents registered their respective joy and happiness over the kindness and generosity of the foundation. They promised to justify the confidence reposed on them.
