Excitement as LAUTECH workers escape bandit attack

The acting Vice-Chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Professor Mojeed Olaide Liasu, has expressed his profound appreciation to the almighty God for miraculously protecting some workers of the Institution from ravaging bandits who waylaid them between Ondo and Osun State at the weekend.

Mouthpiece NGR gathered that the staffers were attempted by gun wielding youths alleged to be below ages 18 and 30 in the Akure/Ilesa axis of the two southwestern states of Nigeria.

While thanking God, the University helmsman admonished staff to be prayerful and more careful even as they prioritize their movements.

The workers who had traveled to the Akoko area of Ondo State for a social programme at the weekend were returning to base, when they ran into some bandits who had attempted to take them hostage before escaping by the whiskers.

While they all came back safely, some of the workers tell tales of woe as they carry injuries as evidence of the bitter encounter.

Professor Liasu who said Management of the University will forever be grateful to God for His mercies and protection over LAUTECH, professed that there shall be no loss.
