Covid-19: LAUTECH fumigates health centre, others

Management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso has fumigated and disinfected the whole health centre including the school ambulance to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the school. 

Mouthpiece NGR recalls that the health centre was shut down on Tuesday following reports that  a student of the institution contracted Coronavirus.

A statement made available to Mouthpiece NGR on Thursday indicated that the student whose identity is protected is still in isolation centre. 

It was gathered that the Covid-19 result test of the student is not yet available and the new date for it release not definite. 

The management through the Director of Medical Service LAUTECH, Dr Sola Onawumi said at the staff meeting held today 4th, February 2021, they conclude that everyone should be patient with the process of retrieving the result in order to be sure of the authenticity of the result.

The statement reads in part: “We note the general fummigation and disinfection of the whole Health Centre and ambulance that was done this morning, 4th, February 2021, and that the place is  now adjudged safe for human activity.”

“The DMS was saddled with the responsibility of keeping the five officers who had direct contact with the suspected students, on self isolation at home until 2 week lapse.”

“That, while still waiting for the covid 19 result of the concerned student, the HEALTH CENTRE should be open for normal activity as from 8am tomorrow friday, 5th, February 2021.”

“Thanks for your usual understanding.”
