Essay competition: Oke LEGACY foundation doles out scholarship, cash to winners

Former House of Representatives aspirant and member of Oyo State Local Government Service Commission (OSLSC), Hon. John Adisa Oke has doled out scholarship and cash gift to mark the Nigeria’s 60th anniversary as a sovereignty state.

The foundation had last week invited students from various schools in Ogbomoso to participate in an essay competition themed “Effect of Covid-19 Pandemic on Nigeria Economy and Way Forward” slated on 29th of October 2020, to mark Independent day.

Mouthpiece NGR gathered that more than 50 students competed and 3 best students were shortlisted and awarded with scholarship and cash gifts.

The beneficiaries are:

  1. Ahmed Abdul Malik Dolapo from School of Science Ogbomoso
  2. Adeleye Favour Adedayo from Anglican Grammar School
  3. Nwakile David from Smith International Baptist Academy, Ogbomoso.

All the students will be sponsored for External Exams and other scholarship benefit would be the extended.

While reiterating his commitment to service to humanity, Hon. John Adisa Oke said the purpose of the program is to encourage young chaps and to cater for the less privileged especially those with great talents in our immediate society.

Oke further said subsequent incentives will also include educational support programme for the youths and others.

In appreciation, a parent of one of the beneficiaries, Mr Ahmed Sambo expressed his gratitude at the philanthropic gesture displayed by Hon. John Adisa Oke.

“This is not the first time you have been holding a program like this for students at all levels.”

“I will support you in anyway you can when the times comes because we really know your impact in the society and how you’ve been contributing your quota to the development of Ogbomoso”, he said.

Mr Sambo who further disclosed at the event that he is the Zenith Labor Party Secretary, Ogbomoso South, reiterated that he will be part of Hon. John Adisa Oke political train in any of his aspiration.
