7th Year Remembrance: Oke Legacy Foundation doles out 86 scholarship to Obas, others

Former House of Representatives aspirant and member of Oyo State Local Government Service Commission (OSLSC), Hon. John Adisa Oke has doled out eighth six scholarship to commemorate the 7th year remembrance of his late father, Chief Isiah Kolawole Oke.

The late business man was the first to establish the First Secondary Private Boarding School in Ogbomoso.

While alive, he was into Transportation, Shipping, Oil and Gas, Finance and Education.

His most interest was education because education is believed to be an investment in Human Resources.

In retrospect, he was also the first person to establish First Private Tertiary Institution in Ogbomoso ( Best Legacy College of Education). The Institution has convoked more than 2000 graduates since inception. Primary, Secondary was founded 1995 while College of Education was founded in 2007.

Speaking with Mouthpiece NGR, Adisa-Oke said the decision to hold a low key remembrance for his late father was because of the ongoing #EndSars protest which is a burning issue that federal government needs to address urgently.

He said his father’s love for education compelled him to establish education related institutions because he believed a teacher will also teach someone else and it is part of ways to develop our community, Ogbomoso and Nigeria at large.

Oke who is the Director of Best Legacy College of Education revealed that the management awarded scholarship to Eighty (86) students across the 5 local governments in Ogbomoso and Oyo state at large in commemoration of his father’s 7th year remembrance.
