Oyo Speaker sacks committee chairman without consent of principal officers

The Oyo State House of Assembly led by Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin on Tuesday morning sacked Hon. Olamide Olagoke Akinajo as House Committee Chairman on Works and Transport during plenary after forty days break.

Akinajo, who is an Ibadan mogaji is currently representing Ibadan North East 1 state constituency. He’s said to be the head of those who are not in conformity with the leadership of Ogundoyin. 

Mouthpiece NGR learnt both Ogundoyin and Akinajo are members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

It was gathered that the speaker removed Hon. Akinajo as Chairman House Committee on Works and Transport without the knowledge of the principal officers of the House. Also, without recourse to the selection committee according to the House of Assembly ground rules.

The embattled chairman was replaced by Hon. Kehinde Taofeek Olatunde from Akinyele constituency II.

Mouthpiece NGR learnt Hon. Olatunde who is known as Deacon is presently House Committee Chairman on Appropriations. He was ordered to replaced Hon. Akinajo with immediate effect.
