Eid-el-Fitr: Remain dedicated to good deeds— Lanlehin tells Muslims

Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN) has congratulated Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el Fitr, officially signalling the end of the month-long Ramadan fast.

Lanlehin, who represented Oyo South Senatorial District between 2011 and 2015, and was the Oyo State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in the 2019 polls, in his congratulatory message to Nigerian Muslims in general, and those in Oyo State in particular, commended them for the endurance with which they undertook this year’s fast, especially given the precarious situation the world found itself owing to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

A statement signed by its media bureau on Sunday quoted Lanlehin as saying, “Of all Ramadan, this year’s is significant; not only were there no Tafsir, Iftar and Tarawih, the world’s mood and psyche was that of apprehension and fretting.”

“More than ever, there was the perfect excuse not to observe the mandatory fast. Yet, braving all odds, Islamic faithful obeyed Allah,” Lanlehin said.

In the light of that enduring observance, Lanlehin prayed, “that Almighty Allah would bless Islamic adherents bountifully, and that they will reap the benefits here on earth, and in the hereafter.

In equal measure, Senator Lanlehin (SOLAN), congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso I, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III, Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Abdulganiyu Adekunle Salawu, Ologunebi Ajinase I, Ibadan Mogajis and Baales, Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik AbdulGaniyy Abubakri Agbotomokekere, and the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, Alh Daud Makanjuola Akinola, praying Allah to continue strengthening them, endowing them with the wisdom and power to continue serving humanity.

Lanlehin then felicitated the national executive of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Chief Ralph Nwosu, and the Oyo State executive, under the Acting State Chairman, Rev. Ezekiel Adeniran, local government and ward executives, as well as all members of the party, praying Allah to grant them the chance to witness very many more on earth, in good health and abundant wealth.

While rejoicing with all Muslim Ulama, and every Muslim, on witnessing this year’s Eid-el Fitr, Lanlehin encouraged them not to detour from the paths of righteousness which they trudged throughout the Holy Month, but that they should increase in faith, piety and dedication to good deeds. He wished them all happy celebrations.
