Project Claims: Media Noise won’t save you, Olugbemi tells Akande-Sadipe

Former federal lawmaker representing Oluyole Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honorable Olusumbo Olugbemi, has again emphasized that attempts by his successor, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, to mislead the public over who facilitated some federal government projects to the Constituency would end in futility “urging her to channel her efforts and adopt integrity in office”.
In apparent reaction to the defense of Hon. Aknade-Sadipe over the allegations of credit usurpation on some federal projects he had facilitated to Oluyole while in office between 2015 and 2019, Hon. Olugbemi who spoke to our correspondent in a telephone interview insisted that his successor was wrong to have allegedly packaged certain projects she met on ground as her personal achievement.
His words; “Come to think of it, I would not have joined issues with her over this matter but concerned constituents, including members of the APC in Oluyole local government and beyond, are the ones raising concerns and urging me to set the record straight. The records are there and it baffles me that somebody like her can make any dubious attempt to rewrite history in a matter of few months.
“She should settle down and do the work she was voted to do rather than gallivanting around disturbing the media space and laying claims to facilitating projects that had already been implemented. These projects are not statutory rights of our constituency and If they were sold out, as she claimed; why did she not report to the appropriate quarters and the general public until her lid was blown open?
“The hand of the clock is ticking fast and very soon, the people of Oluyole would have a genuine cause to ask why she could not add more to what she met on ground in terms of giving unemployed graduates of the Constituency federal jobs, attracting more federal presence to Oluyole like i did for Olomi Olunde Ijebu igbo road valued at N9.8b among others  as well as partnering relevant stakeholder  and relevant authorities to move the entire constituency forward among other things.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I still work assiduously to monitor most of the projects I personally facilitated but which were delayed largely due to some bureaucratic bottlenecks and I am even ready to involve her in all this. For instance, the N10m Ologede Solar light which was domiciled in Ogun Osun River basin Authority is now 50 per cent done. Also, the N10m Borehole project located at Olonde 1 Community Zone 4 as well as the Ologede solar powered street light project were delivered in the similar circumstance. Olukade community would soon play host to officials of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority who are coming to give them an ultra modern borehole facility.
“Interestingly from my investigation, Hon  Mrs. Akande-Sadipe did self monitoring  of these projects and programmes on the Workshop on Agricultural products and the one on Capacity Building and Empowerment of Farmers on Agricultural Systems Production and Processing organized  respectively.
Lastly, it is laughable that she told another bared faced lie that I did not bankroll any empowerment programme for my constituents. On this, I challenge Hon. Akande-Sadipe to explain why she had to embark on victimization of some people within the Oluyole APC who she tagged disloyal because they benefitted massively from the last multimillion Empowerment Programme I did early 2019, “Olugbemi added.
