Oyo Government to train over a thousand Youth to access Tony Elumelu Enterprenuers Grant (photos)

The Oyo state Government has approved the training of over a thousand young people across all the 33 Local Government Areas and LCDAs of the state. This training will be open and accessible to settlers, resident and citizens of the state. This training is to prepare the Youths of the state for the annual Tony Elumelu Empowerment programme which is principally for enterprenuers in need of $5000 seed capital, Business Training, Mentorship and Opportunity to Pitch Ideas.
According to the SA (Youth and Sports) to the government of Oyo State, Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa MPMC said “this is a great news for all the citizens, dwellers and settlers domiciled in Oyo state who fall into the age bracket of the Youth. We are doing this because we want to prepare our young people for the greater market place and to open doors to more opportunities across the globe. It is to train the Youth of Oyo State who are enterprenuers and need funding for their businesses and it will go a long way in adding value to their businesses and increasing the economy of the state”. Bolarinwa concluded that “This is also to divert attention of our industrious Youths into vocation and acquisition of skills”.
The training cut across sectors like Tourism and Hospitality, Agriculture, Construction and Real Estate, Consumer Goods, Education, Fashion and Lifestyle, Fintech, Food, Logistics, Health-care, ICT, Industry, Production, Telecommunication, Media and Entertainment, Utilities and a host of other technical skills.
The programme is scheduled to hold for two consecutive days and it will be in batches. The first batch of 500 trainees will be trained on the first day, March 20, 2020 while the other batch will trained the next day March 21, 2020. All participants will be certified by the Oyo state government at the end of their training.
