ASUU Strike: Why LAUTECH may not join— Mouthpiece NGR

Indications has emerged that the Academic Staff Union of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomosho, may not join the ongoing two weeks warning strike.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities had on Monday declared a two-week warning strike against non-payment of salaries of lecturers for not enrolled into the Federal Government Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System.
The directive has made some universities especially Unilorin to join the strike while other institutions are on verge of holding congress before Friday.
Unilorin which is currently going on with exams joined ASUU strike for the first time in 20 years after holding congress on Tuesday.
In LAUTECH, there are indications the Academic Staff Union may not join the strike especially now the school is striving hard to be fully back on track and maintain its number one position.
Mouthpiece NGR learnt the institution will hold her congress on Thursday to arrive at a congressional decision and make its position known to the world.
From our findings, it’s most certain the union members will show compassion and plead for the school exams to be over before joining strike.
The union members had already been briefed on NEC directive, Mouthpiece NGR confirmed.
