67 acres Trans Amusement Park is now a Museum, Let’s Rehabilitate to create jobs- Hon. Babajide

Oyo State lawmaker representing Ibadan North Constituency II, Hon. Babajide Adebayo has called on the executive arm of the State to rehabilitate trans amusement park to enhance tourism and create jobs for the unemployed youths.

Adebayo, in a motion during the legislative plenary in Ibadan on Tuesday, registered his utmost displeasure in the deteriorating state of Trans Amusement Park which he said should be an opportunity to improve the State’s Internal Generated Revenue if revived.

According to Babajide, the trans wonderland sitting on 67acres at the heart of Ibadan can now be best described as a museum, as all the world class facilities are no longer functioning and rotting away.

He said, “The amusement park has roller coasters, electric bumper cars, panoramic wheels, merry-go-roundhorses, space station, flying chain chairs, dragon and so on, used to be activities filled all-round the year.

“It is saddening to note that many of the mentioned facilities have been abandoned to decay.

“We are urging the Executive Arm of Government through the Bureau of Public Private Partnership to source investors to rehabilitate and put the facilities of the Park into use with a view to boosting tourism and IGR.”
