LAUTECH: Doctors commend Oyetola for approval of new salary scheme

The Association of Resident Doctors of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Teaching Hospital, Osogbo has commended Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola for approving the implementation of the adjusted Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for doctors in the State.
Mouthpiece NGR recall the Governor recently approved 100 per cent implementation of the CONMESS and Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) for all categories of health workers in Osun, putting end to eight years of agitation for salary increment by medical practitioners in the State.
In a statement jointly signed by its President and General Secretary, Dr Ogungbemi A.O and Dr Ilori S.O respectively, the group described the approval as a great step in the right direction. 
It said “the benevolence will go a long way towards improving the standard of healthcare delivery in the State, which we believe is one of the frontline agendas of the Executive Governor”. 
The association lamented that the delayed implementation of the new salary structure had impacted poorly on healthcare delivery in the State.
“There has been loss of morale and enthusiasm among the health workers with consequential work overload, which had adversely affected the psychology of health workers in the State.”
The doctors, therefore, thanked Governor Oyetola for coming to their aids by approving the full implementation of the new salary structure, which would positively impact healthcare delivery in the State.
