BREAKING: PHOTOS: Heavy Tension As Akala’s Son Officially Replaced With Deputy, Inaugurated In Ibadan

Less than 72 hours to general election, the former governor Adebayo Alao Akala’s son, Olamiju, has been replaced with his vice, Hon. Abass Bello Bayewuwon following his defection to the African Democratic Party last week. 

Bayewuwon was inaugurated this afternoon inside the office of the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters, Mr Bimbo Kolade at the government secretariat Agodi Ibadan
The event which was also attended by Political office holders and stalwarts All Progressives Congress, APC in the state also had in attendance some notable people from Ogbomoso. 
It should be recalled that Olamiju had dismissed his suspension, saying it was illegal because 4 ‘councillors-elect. He protested that his removal was illegal, null and void, adding that his sack was unconstitutional and that he remains the council chairman.
MouthpieceNG gathered that 4 out of the 10 councilors in Ogbomoso North local government had suspended the chairman on Tuesday, February 19, following his allege anti party activities and defection to African Democratic Party. 
In a statement issued and personally signed, Olamiju said he still remains the council chairman and he would use the 3-year mandate to serve the people of Ogbomoso North.
Oyo Insight reports that, there were presence of heavy security at the premises of Ogbomoso North local government. 
About five patrol vehicles were placed at strategic locations around the council secretariat while stern looking uniformed men with arms were sighted at premises.

Workers who arrived their offices on Wednesday, February 20, were scared with the presence of both uniform and plain cloth but armed security men in the council.
Principal officers including councillors in the council were said to have kept away from the council because of the implications of Olamiju’s removal on Tuesday, February 19.
Meanwhile the APC’s chairman in the local government, Bukola Badmus, who confirmed the suspension and subsequent sack of Olamiju Alao Akala as the council chairman, said that once he has defected to another party he could no longer remain as the council chairman.
Badmus disclosed that four councillors in the council signed a letter removing the chairman and had accordingly forwarded the letter to the state commissioner for local government and who has in turn endorsed it.
The governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, however, condemned the action of the state government as he described it illegal.
Lanlehin who spoke through Basiru Lawal, his campaign director, pointed out that the action was dictatorial and should be rescinded immediately or be challenged in court because the chairman was an elected one and not an interim chairman.
Olamiju had contested the council chairman under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in May, 2018 and won.
