Olugbemi Deserves Kudos On The New 10-Year International Passport- Oyedeji Ahmed ( LMP )

Few weeks ago, I wrote an article describing the current honorable member from Oluyole federal constituency, Hon. Sunbo Olugbemi as a silent achiever, especially with the motion he moved on Nigeria international passport.

Excerpt of the article reads,
“Honourable Olubunmi olugbemi, for some time now, I’ve keenly been observing, investigating, and taking record of every of your achievement. I’ve come to realize you don’t make noise with any of it unlike some people who make bill board for a mere donation or little achievement. Hence, I can’t but to break my silence to give you kudos and to encourage you more, because we are watching.
“I’m aware of the motion you moved on Nigerian passports urging the federal government to increase the validity period to 10 years against 5 years, and today, it has been passed to law among others.
President Muhammadu Buhari and the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo have both been presented with a new 10-year diplomatic passport by the Nigeria Immigration service (NIS). They were issued their new diplomatic passports on Tuesday.
The motion for the extension of validity period of the Nigerian passport to ten years instead of the previous five years is now a reality. Hon. Olugbemi should be commended for the brilliant work.
Apart from the 10-year validity, the new passport, according to the NIS has enhanced security features and is ”weather friendly”.
The new passport has polycarbonate technology that eliminates damage and that it now saves Nigerians in diaspora the time needed to frequently visit Nigerian embassies for new passports.
Other advantages includes: Enhanced and self trafficking of application, Express center for urgent applications and Compliance with latest ICAO standards.
