LAUTECH ASUU Set To Resume Academic Activities

The Academic Staff Union of Universities ( ASUU) of the Ladoke Akintola university of technology ( LAUTECH ), Ogbomoso chapter will resume academic activities after the suspension of the strike. 

MouthpieceNG reliably gathered that the union will not embark on local strike after the suspension of the national strike. 
The union, at a meeting that lasted more than 2 hours on 7 January, 2019 had explained the reason for their involvement in the ongoing national strike. 
Representatives of Ogbomoso Parapo and Parents’ Forum had met with the leadership of ASUU, LAUTECH chapter on 7 January, 2019 to discuss their involvement in the on-going national strike of ASUU.
The position of the union in the spirit of national struggle of ASUU was explained. At the end of the meeting, the group was satisfied with explanations of the lecturers for their participation in the strike, which is hoped to be resolved very soon.
A lecturer who wish to be anonymous disclosed to MouthpieceNG today, that the union is not ready to embark on any internal strike. He further stated that the union will hold congress to suspend its strike as soon as the national ASUU strike is suspended. 
He, however, expressed optimism that the meeting with the federal government today will be positive. 
Meanwhile the lecturers under the umbrella of the school Alumni body had since last week started going to class.
