LAUTECH Student Blows Off, Accuses Government, Management, ASUU And Others Of Insincerity, Lack Of Thought For The Students

student of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology ( LAUTECH ) has blamed the staff and management over the sad situation of the school. He accused the school principal officers of insincerity, injustice  and lack of though for the students.
Mr Omoakin Monsurudeen from physics department said that the university management failed to address the issues that led to the Protest staged by some hanging graduates of class 17 who were so eager to go for November Batch C service, but rather ended up witch-haunting and threatening some sets of students with SDC.
He further lamented that the school is going into extinction most especially with the silence of the students who are one of the major stakeholders of the school for keeping quiet as they bear the brunt.
The class ’17 students had protested the non release of their Statement Of Result for NYSC on November, 15, 2018, the students in their large numbers locked the school gates and barricaded all escaping route in the school.
The students who have been home for more than 3months are helpless and hopeless, they have no idea whether the school will resume fully as soon as the national strike is suspended.
Omoakin Monsurudeen popularly known as MKO noted that “the school management want students to pay tuition fee after students has agreed to the inhumane recent increment of tuition fee but failed to make adequate provision and assurance of getting the service you want them to pay for, how do you intend to force or lure them to pay? Commencement of PRACTICAL CLASS would have given them hope and assurance of other academic activities, this would have make the university to generate more funds, he quipped.
” University of Ibadan, (U.I) is not as grounded as LAUTECH despite being on strike, the university is still busy like normal business day, unlike here that is already like a graveyard. I hope the needful is done, he said.
Speaking further, he berated the school management for pocketing their INDUSTRIAL TRAINING ALLOWANCE as their colleagues in other schools has been paid.
” We learnt the fund has been paid to the university pocket, we decided to keep mute because we thought the money is not much but after realizing that #15000 X 4000 students will amount to about #60million naira, since we have about 4000 students that did their I.T during the said period, then we see the need to awaken you to do the needful if truly the money has been paid to the university pocket to avoid a replica of November 15 as students will continue to fight for what is right in every logical way applicable”.
The hanging graduate also accused the Academic Staff Union of Selfish Interest and for failing to release the results of both harmattan and Rain semesters which have reportedly been completed since April and August respectively.
” We understand the fact that the state Governments (Oyo & Osun) are not responsible while a lots of structures on campus are Tetfund projects, but is that a reason why we must close down the university totally? Why must we continue to fight ourselves in pretense of fighting the government?
“I believe you claimed to be fighting the Government because they don’t care for our (Students) future, Do you also care for it? Do u realize the best job in Nigeria is meant for graduates of the range of 25-28 ? Do you know the number of class 17 and other students that you have affected with strikes ?
“The fact that the government is owing you shouldn’t be a reason why you should hold students result, or a reason why you shouldn’t consider the future of these students as well, this will only showcase that you are not different from the so-called Government officials.
“If you have joined the  National body to commence the strike due to some logical reasons, is it not yet time for you to pull out of the strike, considering the fact that LAUTECH has loose a session before, and if we continue like this we might loose another session and students will not even choose LAUTECH again. He lamented.
Omoakin blamed Aregbesola and Ajimobi for the woes of the institution. He noted that “Gov. Aregbesola became former governor in a seconds after Oyetola was sworn in as Osun state Governor, Aregbesola and his tenure as the Governor became history on that same day, but all his actions will live forever, in less than six months Governor Ajimobi and his tenure will also become history as Oyo state Governor. Power is transient!
“Whatever you do will continue to linger in our minds, the state of Education in the two States is nothing to reckon with, LAUTECH as a case study, but this will be a story for another day. Kindly do the needful before it is too late, “he said.
He later appeal to all stakeholders to rise up and defend the university from going into total extinction for the sake of over 50,000 Nigerians.
